finding joy

finding joy

do you ever have a day where everything just goes wrong?

you’re surviving on 4 hours of sleep, your hair is a mess, you turn in an assignment late, and you feel like you can’t do anything right. maybe someone says something that makes you hurt inside. your day goes from 10 to 0 in half an hour.

why do days like this take such a toll on our health? non of this is major, it’s not like someone we know is dying or we got diagnosed with a deadly illness, but instead it’s the little things that chip away at our happiness. sometimes it just sucks the life out of you.

fun fact: the bible says that life doesn’t have to be this way.

isaiah 40:8 says “the grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of the lord stands forever.”

these taxing little things that we let screw up our days are like the grass and flowers that wither & fade. our world can start to seem so gloomy and sad if we focus on it.

luckily, Christ is here to save they day, like always.

lately i’ve been trying to find things that help the flowers & grass in my mind start to grow again.

little things, like someone smiling at me in the hallway, finding an extra dollar in my pocket, or getting an A on a homework assignment can make my whole day.

look around your life this week and find some things that bring you joy. this won’t take you long, in fact it might be good to step away from the chaos of your life.

these little things may not always catapult you into eternal happiness, but they’ll make you feel a whole lot better than what you felt before.

i hope y’all have an amazing week. and since the school year is coming to a close, i pray that you find some calm within the chaos. much love 💖
